Sneaky Raspberries

Sneaky Raspberries

There has been too much rain and I have been working too much. The two mean that I am unable to mow or weed as I should. This also means that the weeds reign happily free to grow, spread and enjoy themselves.
Raspberries hidden in their leaves
As I strolled the yard to access the needs of the weedwacker, I eyed little colored balls amongst the leaves.  Peering closer, I saw raspberries!
I never planted Raspberry. I thought not to bother as I am entrenched with birds and I have never known them to share the blueberries, so why bother with any other berry? But here they were, one solitary Raspberry plant hidden amongst the over grown flowers and weeds. Apparently the birds had not discovered the Raspberries yet. Delighted, I ate the one berry that was ripe. I will keep my secret and not tell the birds and just maybe I will get to eat a few more.
P.S. I just tiptoed out over to where the Raspberry is and it was loaded with berries! I ate them! Shhh... we aren't telling the birds and now I'm wondering if the trick to having berries is to hide them in the weeds. I press onward.
