It measures 5 1/2" inches deep where it attaches to the back piece. It is gathered into the Bonnet body. This back piece allows for enough room to accommodate long hair put up in a bun to keep it clean and away from the sun. Machine wash cold and light dryer.

I'll be honest - I ended up at this website through a Pinterest ad, and thought oh, boy, here we go - a prairie chic Instagram prop source.
And then I found the bonnets. Seriously, this is EXACTLY what I needed - I keep house, and am always bustling around in the Texas heat without enough sun protection. Whether I'm tending the goats or chickens or hanging up clothes, I've been wanting something to keep the glare out of my eyes, but not just from the top, as my straw hat does; I wanted something from the side.
This bonnet is AWESOME. The lightweight denim really is quite lightweight, it stays on whether it's tied or not (enough weight and the right shape to stay put without being crazy hot), and as a sewer (who didn't want to sew a sunbonnet), I think the workmanship is very good. Great value for money - I would buy another. I make my own aprons; I DON'T want to make one of these - not yet, anyway.
I would, however, like to request more colors. The checks don't suit anyone, IMO, and the denims are nice but limited. Come up with a purple one, and I'm all over it. Thank y'all for filling a serious need!
