Violets

Violets

I watch for the little gifts the garden might send me. I received the gift of Violets recently.

My intention was to mow the lawn. I wasn't even thinking of flower beds or propagation and as I walked along, pushing the mower, I saw a patch of blue up ahead, nearly buried in the leafy green grass. I stopped, not wanting to miss anything wonderful that may come along. It was a patch of Violets, just sitting there happy in the sun, nearly hidden in the grass.

Abandoning the mower, I went for a trowel and now I can say that these little ladies have now been replanted in a perennial garden bed, where they can languish nicely in the sun and spreading themselves out, making my garden pretty.

I hope you find some gifts in your garden as well.
